![]() ![]() According to Anand Prakash Choksi, 52, who replicated the Taj Mahal, the body of Shah Jahan’s wife was temporarily buried in the same city and later removed to Agra. Mumtaz died in Burhanpur while giving birth to her 14th child and a new replica has been built at the same place. The famous 17th century Taj Mahal, known as the Memorial of Love, was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the northern Indian city of Agra in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz. This replica of the Taj Mahal includes a large dome, intricate minaret and some of its artefacts, similar to the original monument. ![]() ![]() According to the Associated Press, white marble was obtained from the same city in the Indian state of Rajasthan from which the Taj Mahal stone was taken. An Indian man, Anand Prakash Choksi, has built for his wife a one-third volume of the historic Taj Mahal, but unlike the original, it is his residence, not a mausoleum.
